Mya's Story: A Love That Spans Centuries
In every book I write, I always have something I'm trying to accomplish beyond the typical publishing goals. It's an internal need that guides me through the writing process.
For Mya's book, it's respect.
Mya quickly became one of my absolute favorite characters to write. Yes, she's complicated and difficult. Yes, she can be harsh and unyielding. But there's so much more beneath that surface.
I love her because she doesn't apologize for who she is. After centuries of experience, she's still standing, still fighting. She doesn't soften her edges to make others comfortable, and I respect that about her.
The more I wrote Mya, the more I discovered about what drives her—the fierce love she's capable of, the loyalty that never wavers, and the principles she refuses to compromise on, even when it would be easier.
The Story Behind Night Fall
I never expected Mya's path to affect me as deeply as it has. When I first introduced her character in Night Shade, I knew she had her own tale to tell, but I didn't realize just how profound that narrative would become.
What makes Mya's story unique is the depth of her loss and the length of her grief. She's survived centuries of believing her mate was dead, only to discover a truth that changes everything. Her evolution isn't just about finding love again—it's about reclaiming a piece of herself she thought was lost forever.
Exploring this centuries-long love story with Erik—from forbidden beginnings to devastating loss to desperate hope—created an emotional experience that was as challenging to write as it was rewarding.
Night Fall marks a significant milestone in the Chronicles of The Otherworld series—completing the Novak Family storyline and closing Part One: The Vampire War. Mya and Erik deserved this final chapter to bring their arc to completion before we venture into new supernatural territories.
The Cover Reveal
The Blurb
She thought her vampire mate was dead, but the truth may destroy them both.
Mya's life has been intertwined with Erik's for centuries. First as her savior, then as her guardian, and finally as her forbidden yet undeniable lover. Mya believed nothing could ever tear them apart—until vicious betrayal left Erik dead.
Mya has mourned him for three hundred years, stuck in her anguish and grief, until she learned the truth. Erik never died. He's been imprisoned by their enemies. They've tortured, experimented on, and cursed him, until he lost everything, even himself.
Mya won't rest until she saves him, but she's not the only one searching for Erik. The hunt is on, and if she doesn't get there first, he may die for real.
