Release Day Magic: When Night Shade Found Its Readers

Celebrating Success and Amazing Rankings

Release day was absolutely magical! It was a wild day, but the support was an absolute blessing and I'm so thankful to everyone who reached out and read my book.

I wasn't sure what to expect on release day. You spend so long working on a book in private - writing, editing, designing covers, getting everything ready - and then suddenly it's out there for everyone to see. It's terrifying and exciting all at once.

But the response was incredible. People were actually buying and reading Daniella's story! I even bought myself a release day cake to celebrate, because when you publish your first book, you deserve cake. A friend of mine convinced me to buy a crown too, which I've been obsessed with on my TikTok lives!

Unexpected Rankings Success

Then the rankings started coming in, and I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Night Shade reached the top 100 for Vampire Suspense in the UK! It's also ranking high for Occult Suspense there as well. In Canada, it's in the top 300 for Multicultural & Interracial Romance, Psychics Paranormal Romance, and Psychic Romance. And in the US, it's sitting at 260 for Vampire Suspense, which is simply amazing to me.

I keep staring at these numbers because they represent something I didn't dare hope for - that readers would actually connect with the story that started with a single Pinterest image of Daniella. Seeing it rank alongside other books in these categories feels surreal.

Finding Readers Who Connect

The whole experience has taught me something about putting your work out into the world. You can plan and prepare as much as you want, but ultimately, you have to trust that the story you've poured your heart into will find the readers who need it. And apparently, Daniella's story has found them.
