The Best Birthday Present I Could Give Myself

Finishing the First Draft of Night Shade

My birthday was this week, and I gave myself the best present. The first draft of Night Shade is done!

So what does that mean? The first stage of the writing process for this book is complete. Next comes editing, proofreading, and publishing. It sounds like a lot, and it is, but this portion is much faster. Remember, starting is always the hardest, but you can always start over or as many times as you need to.

I've begun working with a cover designer who has sent me the first concept, and it's beautiful! They did a great job on incorporating the characters. I've asked them for a few revisions, but once I get a design back that I can approve, you'll get to see it first!
