Mais moi ? Je suis devenu tout autre chose.

Interrogatif.

Damné.

Non par une quelconque puissance divine ou une malédiction démoniaque, mais par mon propre esprit. Chaque vie que j’ai prise pour mon créateur pesait plus lourd que la pierre dont ma chair était faite.

Combien d’âmes avais-je condamnées qui auraient pu être sauvées ? Combien de démons avais-je massacrés qui auraient pu trouver la rédemption ?

Je me souviens du visage d’une jeune femme, possédée par un démon mineur. Ses yeux oscillaient entre terreur et malveillance à mon approche, une attitude différente de l’arrogance habituelle des démons. Et malgré cet instant où son humanité avait resplendi, j’ai tout de même choisi de mettre fin à ses jours. L’emprise du démon était faible — peut-être aurait-elle pu le combattre, peut-être aurait-elle pu survivre, peut-être avait-elle une raison de vivre.

Mais j’avais été créé pour juger, pour exécuter. Pas pour remettre en question ma souveraineté ou mes responsabilités.

Et maintenant, j’étais le seul à blâmer.

Mon incertitude me rongeait, assombrissant mon âme. Car, même si j’avais vécu des millénaires — vu des continents sombrer dans l’océan et des empires s’élever puis s’effondrer —, je ne comprenais pas comment interpréter le monde qui s’étendait autour de moi, comment discerner la frontière entre le bien et le mal.

Tout ce poids est devenu insupportable et, les ailes repliées contre mon dos, je me suis plongé dans un profond sommeil. Mon corps s’est changé en pierre, mais j’étais toujours là. Vivant. Observant. Apprenant.

Les humains, convaincus que je n’étais rien de plus qu’une statue, m’ont emporté. J’ai voyagé sur des navires, des avions, entendu leurs récits et observé leur langue évoluer et se transformer. J’ai commencé à comprendre leurs sentiments, leurs motivations et leurs rêves.

Et j’ai fini par me retrouver au sommet d’une église, à New York. Un lieu de culte qui croyait que je pouvais le protéger, ainsi que ceux qui y entraient, du mal.

Là, j’ai attendu, animé d’un seul espoir : qu’un jour, quelqu’un ait besoin de moi, quels que soient mes crimes, même si je n’étais rien de plus qu’une bête brisée, rejetée et féroce.

It is a quick fun read and kept my attention the whole time. I enjoyed the book and plan to look for more books by this author!

Usually monster/beast romance aren't really my jam but since this was Melissa Cummins & I loved her Crowned in Blood book & this sounded intriguing I figured I'd give myself something different a try & boy did she deliver on this. I love the FMC Sienna feeling like i can so relate to her when you sometimes feel like you have no one who care about you & you'd feel better if you just packed up & dissappear & start over. The Beast Sol OMG the way he loves for her, I was asking myself where can I find my own Gargoyle lol. Such a amazing read that IT DID NOT DISSAPOINT ESPECIALLY AFTER SIENNA GOT BURNED BY THOSE WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FAMILY BUT SHE GOT CLOSURE WITH THEM & THEN FOUND HER HEA. DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS HOTT KNOTTing Beast Read & read TODAY

Really enjoyable

It was a great and unique retelling of Beauty and The Beast.This was first monster romance and will definitely nit be my last.Can't wait to read more from Melissa Cummins.

Don't be fooled by the shorter length, it still has all the feels. It is a lovely bite sized story of betrayal, healing, and learning to love again.

This was such a fun book to get lost in.

I picked it up expecting a good time and ended up flying through it way faster than I planned. It had that kind of pull where I’d finish a chapter and immediately want to keep going.

I think my favorite part was how easy it was to just sink into the book and enjoy the ride. Sometimes you pick up a book and everything clicks right away, and that’s how this one felt for me.

I was completely entertained from start to finish and found myself smiling more than once while reading. The pages seemed to disappear, and before I knew it, I was already at the end.

Honestly, this was just a really enjoyable escape and exactly the kind of book I was in the mood for.

Betrayed!

Betrayed and then she's attacked. Saved by Sol, she finds the one who is truly meant for her and she for him. He gives her the devotion and attention she deserves. A quick read and a new take on Beauty and the Beast. You'll love it.

Willing to try love again

A very good short read with a lot of action. With an alpha gargoyle knowing what he wants and preparing to meet his mate. A heroine who has been hurt and used by her family willing to be put first and loved.

I received an ARC copy of this book and I devoured it in one sitting. This is a quick read that will make you angry, make you cry, make you fall in love with a possessive gargoyle, and get you a little hot under the collar. My Vicious Beast is a great follow up to My Brutal Beast. Melissa Cummins is one of my favorite authors.

This book was really intense and I loved the ride! There was a lot of inner discovery and angst to get to the end but that was half the fun! If you like dark themes with a HEA, you'll love this little romp! :-)

Short but viciously good

I don’t understand how this book got me so invested in such a short read. But man was I locked in from the beginning. Sienna had me captivated with her story and personality. There were multiple moments I cheered for her out loud. Couldn’t help it. The way she took no **** with regard to James and her sister, or her parents, made me so happy. Sol is the definition of possessive and obsessive. He is so very intense, but for Sienna he is so gentle and caring. It was a delicious combination. The chemistry and tension between them was so heated and on point. Their connection was intense and raw. It felt so genuine and intimate. And the ending they got felt like it was utter perfection for these two.

Enjoyable Beauty and the Beast inspired tale

I really enjoyed the first book in this series so I was very excited to see a new book come out. It definitely exceeded expectations. Although a relatively short book, I still felt the characters were portrayed well and could understand why they felt and thought like they did. I'm a sucker for fairy tale retellings especially Beauty and the Beast and this one didn't disappoint.I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wow I sat down and finished this within 2 hours. Such a captivating story that will leave you wanting more. It's a beautiful freakier adaption to beauty and the beast. The first chapter draws you in and you really sympathise with Sienna's life story and how James destroyed her but she really comes out stronger and finding love in the most impossible way. How I crave to be in love with the beast too. I would recommend reading this once or twice xx

A Quick but Compelling Read

Sienna immediately draws you in. She is clearly going through it, but what stands out is how relatable she feels throughout everything. She is not overpowered or unrealistic, just a woman trying to survive a really difficult situation.Astrid is such an important presence in the story. With how awful Sienna's family and sister are, she stands out as the only true friend Sienna has. The magic is woven in subtly, acting as a quiet layer underneath everything.The Creature ends up being one of the strongest parts of the book. I liked how complex he was, especially once his backstory started coming out. He is not just a monster, but something far more layered and tragic. That makes his relationship with Sienna more interesting, especially given how protective he is of her.I also enjoyed the book overall and found it to be a quick read.

Short and to the point, this super cute Beauty and the Beast vibe book was a fantastic read.
The growth that both main characters went through for their love was inspiring and their spicy scenes were well written.
Can't wait to read more in the series.

The Dawn and her Savior

This is the second of the Claimed By Beasts series and it was a powerful novel filled with heart and heat and packed quite the punch! There are themes of betrayal and drama through past events, but it is an addictive, instalove read that is emotional and riveting and it culminates in a hard-won, sweet and spicy HEA.Poor Sienna has been dragged through a tough life, being bullied by so called friends and family and when she finally thought she had connected with the love of her life, she feels the sting of betrayal by him and her younger sister and the family that discards her and discounts her feelings. She finally chooses to put herself first and takes off for New York and through heartbreak and the discovering magic of growing and learning, she meets her loyal savior.Sol the Gargoyle, a creature beset by doubt and anxiety, is millennia old and worn down by the vagaries of the human world. He doubts himself, his abilities and duty and yearns for the one bright dawn of his life; for his mate to choose him. When a bright illuminance colours his mind, he sets off to search for that one person who will find him enough and deserving of a better and brighter future together.From heartbreaking, soulful and teary moments and hurtful drama to loving values, I have thoroughly enjoyed the hours of respite this reading has gifted me.I thank the author for giving me the opportunity to enjoy the arc and provide my voluntary review.

This is a compact but great read.
I really like Sienna’s character. She doesn’t back down and makes a very brave decision when the people that should fight for her let her down. I like how she is willing to golive her dream.
The vicious beast, will do anything for Sienna, and she needs, and deserves, that commitment.
This book at its heart, a very well-written, sweet romantic ode.

This was a great romance with amazing characters and a great story. You fall in love with the characters.

Spicy, delicious gargoyle with a vibrating tail-what more do you need?

This is a quick easy read that absolutely packs it in (pun intended :)). Characters are well developed for a short book, and i immediately liked the FMC. Starting off with some absolute rage at the idiots in the FMC’s life, we then quickly pivot to her finding a satisfying new start in NYC. Soon she’s found by the creature, who quite literally sweeps her off her feet. This is a fast burn with an obsessive and protective MMC who would give her the world. And he has a prehensile vibrating tail. That alone should be enough for you to read this book. Thanks to the author for the early read.

I need more.

3.5⭐️ Beauty and the Beast. And the Beast is a Gargoyle and he doesn't turn into a human. He's the Beast. He feels as a Beast should. He loves as a Beast should. He holds you against the wall, as a Beast should. A fun quick read for when you don't have much time, but want the hole story in one setting.It was ok. I didn't enjoy it as much as her other books. But that doesn't mean it was bad. Maybe it was the length. I needed more of the , "waited forever feel," that you don't get in Novellas.

Loved it. Super quick read and very enjoyable. I was cheering for the FMC right from the start and am so happy with how things ended for her.

Want a quick read that will take you through a variety of emotions? This human/gargoyle love story might just brighten your day. Sol is a centuries old being who has been waiting for his mate to appear. Sienna is a human coming off of a terrible betrayal by her fiancé and little sister. Sienna has chosen herself amidst the family drama, gaslighting, etc and immediately sets out for a fresh start and I absolutely loved her character for this!Sol and Sienna are sweet together and though I’m jealous I am also really glad to see these characters get everything they want and deserve.

A Lovable Beast, short and spicy read!!

Poor Sienna! Her family is literally garbage,and then she finds out her fiancé is too. She meets Creature after almost dying. He should be the scariest thing she has ever encountered in her life but turns out to be the absolute best. I fell in love with Creature myself. He had so much humanity and depth. His love for Sienna and the care he took to make a home for her before he even found her was just stunning. Sienna was so easy to relate to as a person. How we all judge ourselves and that its hard to kick those thoughts and habits. It kinda makes me want more of them. Great job!

Beast? What Beast?

This is a short read; I call it a palette cleanser before moving on to something more hefty. This gargoyle is so in love with the woman he has waited a VERY long time for. This woman’s dream for a partner has come true. Of course, there’s more to the story, but I won’t ruin it for ya’ll. I strongly suggest you take an hour or so and read this feel-good paranormal romance by Melissa Cummins.

Aww this was so adorably sweet!

Poor Sienna, what a horrible family and boyfriend she had, but instead of falling apart completely she stood back up dusted herself off and kept going.

Her gargoyle was smitten before even meeting her, so glad she found acceptance and love from a monster who thought he was too broken to find his mate.
