Luke and Johanna's Story Finally Comes to Life

The Story That Changed Everything

I never planned for Chronicles of The Otherworld to be my debut series. I had full intentions of writing it and even had planned out a pretty decent chunk of the novels, but there was another series that I thought would be my debut.

I had thought about Night Shade almost every night as I drifted off to sleep, always saying "one day I'm going to write that book," and then something happened that changed the entire trajectory of everything.

I got inspired for scenes for Night Fury. They were specifically in reference to Johanna and the trauma that she goes through and overcomes. It was so devastatingly beautiful that I couldn't resist, and so I didn't. I sat my ass down, put pen to paper, and started writing Night Shade.

Night Shade will always hold a special place in my heart—after all, there's a reason why the characters tend to be immortal—but whenever I sit down to write Night Fury, there's a nervous sort of joy that flows through me, like when someone surprises you with a present and you're torn between cautiously unwrapping it or ripping the wrapping paper to shreds.

Luke and Johanna: A Love Worth Fighting For

One of the things that distinguishes Night Fury from Night Shade is the nature of the relationship. Luke and Johanna's love story faces the ultimate test: separation and betrayal.

Luke is someone who has endured for centuries as a vampire yet finds himself completely undone by the loss of his fated mate. The pain of that separation drives him to extremes, showing a vulnerability beneath his immortal strength.

Johanna's character represents strength under impossible circumstances. She's made difficult choices to protect Luke, all while under the control of their enemy. Her journey explores what happens when protecting someone you love means betraying them.

I can't wait to get this book into your hands so you can go through all of these emotions with me and experience the same love between Luke and Johanna that I've been nurturing for more than a year.

The Cover Reveal

The Blurb

An ageless evil thirsts for blood and vengeance.

Luke has endured for centuries as a vampire. But nothing could prepare him to lose Johanna—his fated mortal mate—to the vampire war.

Johanna has protected Luke from the shadows, while captive to an enemy whose punishment knows no mercy. Forced to betray Luke in ways he will never see coming, she's scarred and broken.

Luke won't rest until Johanna is safe in his arms. But will unearthing the truth about her betrayal destroy them first? And if Luke finds Johanna in time, will she still be the woman he lost—or the monster she's been forced to become?
